Managing Partner Larry Unruh Discusses Hein’s Strong Emphasis on Training with IPA
(May 30, 2009) - Larry Unruh, Managing Partner of Hein & Associates LLP, is featured in the lead story of the May 2009 issue of Inside Public Accounting (IPA). The article, entitled "Training as a Core Value: What Skills are Needed in a New Era of Doing More with Less," takes a closer look at firms that encourage their professionals to earn 80-plus hours of CPE annually, versus the 40 hours that are required.
Hein & Associates was one of three firms interviewed to discover whether they were seeing a return on their investment, what skills they are trying to develop, and how their philosophy fits into the current economic environment. Of the three, all of which stood out in IPA’s 2008 Annual Survey and Analysis of Firms, Hein professionals earn the most CPE annually with the firm allocating $9,000 per professional to achieve that goal. The firm also invests heavily in future leaders with a program called Hein University.
