LITIGATION | VALUATION

Consulting Senior-Litigation • Valuation Advisory Services
Consulting Seniors are given a wide variety of diversified consulting assignments under direct supervision. The focus of this position is on gathering and analyzing documents and information necessary to successfully achieve engagement objectives.

Essential duties include:
  • Prepares complex worksheet and/or database financial models
  • Assimilates engagement objectives as described by supervisory personnel
  • Organizes work product effectively
  • Communicates status of tasks with supervisor regularly
  • Applies current knowledge and seeks to improve abilities using computer technology in performing work
  • Understands and adheres to firm policies, procedures, manuals, forms and relevant software
  • Develops rapport with team members and clients
Education and Experience: A Bachelor or Master's degree with an emphasis in accounting or finance and demonstrated proficiency with the use of spreadsheet software programs.

Consulting Supervisor-Litigation • Valuation Advisory Services
The Consulting Supervisor demonstrates a high level of technical proficiency in meeting engagement objectives and assisting managers and partners prepare written reports. This person can receive general direction from managers and partners to work more independently in meeting engagement objectives.

Essential competencies include:
  • Targets and develops personal relationships with key client contacts
  • Demonstrates clear understanding of engagement objectives as explained by managers and partners
  • Has mastered computer technology used in performing work
  • Applies current knowledge and seeks to improve abilities for performing specialized litigation and/or valuation engagements
  • Understands and adheres to firm policies, procedures, manuals, forms and relevant software
  • Develops rapport with team members and clients
Education and Experience: A Bachelor or Master's degree with an emphasis in accounting or finance. CPA certification is preferred, or must be actively pursuing other advanced designations in the areas of fraud investigation, business valuations or comparable consulting areas. Five to seven years of related experience, preferably in public accounting, with demonstrated progression in complexity and leadership abilities.

Consulting Manager-Litigation • Valuation Advisory Services
The Consulting Manager is responsible for: (1) the development of engagement objectives under the general direction of partners and (2) the effective supervision and development of subordinates. The Consulting Manager is a key liaison with the client and the professional staff and may be responsible for managing multiple engagements simultaneously.

Essential competencies include:
  • Supervises and controls the performance of consulting engagements and assignments, including scheduling of work, supervision of staff, and realization of profitability;
  • Serves as a key contact with the client during the engagement and is responsible for the quality of work performed and client satisfaction
  • Takes and active and key role in preparing written reports and supporting the transfer of knowledge to engagement partner
  • Identifies appropriate uses of computer technology, Internet-based research, or other reference sources to meet engagement objectives
  • Works with minimal supervision from engagement partner
  • Maintains current knowledge of advanced technological skills necessary to meet engagement objectives
  • Effectively trains and supervises subordinates including providing formal evaluation feedback
  • Has developed independent referral sources and actively participates in sales and marketing efforts
  • Leads by example.
Education and Experience: A Bachelor degree in Accounting or a Master's degree with an emphasis in accounting or finance. CPA certification or MBA degree is required. Six to ten years of related experience, preferably in public accounting, with demonstrated progression in complexity assignments and demonstrated leadership ability.

Senior Consulting Manager-Litigation • Valuation Advisory Services
The Senior Consulting Manager is the principal liaison between the partner, the client, and the professional staff on larger litigation or valuation engagements. The Senior Consulting Manager is expected to take a lead client service role on smaller engagements and should be prepared to provide expert witness testimony. This person is responsible for direct interface with clients, defining scope of engagements, and managing multiple complex consulting projects. Senior Consulting Managers have also established relationships with attorneys and others for the development of new business.

Essential duties include:
  • Responsible for all phases of multiple and complex litigation or business valuation engagements
  • Recruits, trains, mentors, motivates and performs evaluations of lower level personnel
  • Has developed specific technical expertise in several areas of litigation services and/or business valuations
  • Actively participates in the firm's marketing program; member of sales team; prepares presentations to prospective clients
  • Actively builds and manages professional contacts through membership in professional and community organizations
  • Works with clients and referral sources to deepen and strengthen relationships
  • Takes an active role as an instructor in the firm's internal CPE Program
Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a Master's of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in finance and accounting. CPA certification or MBA degree is required. Nine to twelve years of related experience, preferably in public accounting, with demonstrated progression in complex assignments, leadership ability and business development activities.
